This post is for your information only. We can discuss it and I will not assign a post as solution of this thread unless my info is wrong.
I moved recently. I updated the address on my credit card account.
Without updating my PM autopay cc info, I decided to test PM autopay to determine whether PM check my credit card address provided during the process of setting up my PM autopay. I was able to add $1 to my account using my autopay cc.
Therefore, PM may use your credit card address to verify that you are the owner of your credit card during the process of setting up your autopay. But PM does not check the address on your credit card before taking money from your credit card.

Kudos for willing to change your Koho card. That's very considerate.
@Koombassi : I've done a few tests on things here and there over my time here. Not a big deal. Others have too. Heck...the OP just did one.
Maybe _you'd_ be willing to test out this possibility. Although darlicious may very well be right that one would have to wait through a billing cycle of the card for the address to stick. Dunno. But I won't be looking at it for another couple months. My prepaid Koho doesn't really care about a billing cycle though so maybe changing the address would have no ramifications.

Have you had your credit card statement issued yet? I believe once your statement with your updated address is issued you then must update your address to reflect the change where necessary.
I changed the address on my credit card account. Therefore, my autopay cc has the new address and my PM autopay has my old address. I did not wait for the next statement before testing adding fund to my PM account. I will test again after my next cc statement is generated.

I'm confused....what address are you testing that is different from your credit card on file? Or are you putting a different address in the autopay section?

@popping : Ok then we need another guinea pig to change their payment card address and not change it on this account and do an autopay.
My third account is dormant now until mid-Oct. I could set up my Koho card and toggle autopay and then temporarily change my Koho card address and then see what happens at its renewal. But that's all the way until then. Anybody else? 🙂

But I'm confused. So the address is only verified on set up/entry. But not on a transaction like autopay or manual payment. But you didn't actually do an autopay.
Is all of that correct?
If so that's a great finding. So we can stop saying anything about payment failures having to do with a changed address.
You are correct. I just did one time payment only - not renewal.

I suspect that you're right. When an address check is done, merchants often do a charge in a small amount such as 1 cent to test the valdity of the card. Such a charge never does get posted. I can't remember if Public Mobile did that when I set up my account, but such temporary transactions would reduce the available credit amount. That could potential cause unexpected card declines particularly when using a prepaid card.

I think in Canada, only CVV (Credit verification value) is mandatory and AVS (Address Verification system) is optional (although most would do both).. so, in this case .. PM only do CVV when it tries to post a payment..

@popping way to be a guinea pig!
