I activated public mobile last month with temporary number to test before port my number.  Today, I ported my number from fido to public but when I logged in my account, it send confirmation code to temporary number which is no longer working.  How can I change it?

@computergeek541  when porting into PM on activation then the number is stored in the eversafe profile . I’ve found when you port in to PM account that has a temp number . It’s best to log into the account with temp number and update the ever safe number to the intended number to port in . If not my experience has been it still store the temp number until you actually go in the account and update the ever safe number to newly ported in one . And I think this is what’s happened to the OP

I'm fully aware that the number for the 2FA doesn't automatically get updated.  When I said that the temporary number gets immediately replaced, I was emphasizing that the old phone number is gone/no longer in service at that point.  That's the phone number that is shown in Self Serve as belonging to the customer, and not the one on file for Eversafe.  In any event, the customer would have to had to use the option to send the 2FA code by e-mail to be able to change the phone number linked to Eversafe, as access would have first had be regained to do that.  While's it's true that what you said could be done, the customer who started this thread wouldn't have been able to do that in hindsight.

@Kblee  Do you see the Eversafe profile when you are able to log in with email?  It's in your PM profile and that's where you need to put your ported number if it still shows the previous one

Redirect code to email and continue to log in.

My number replaced to ported number and I don't see my temporary number anymore in my account.  I can log in with email but it's very annoying.

That  happened to me too, the temporary number was automatically replaced in the Public Mobile profile when I ported in my number but there seems to be a glitch with the Eversafe profile and I had to update the number myself because it kept sending the code to the temporary number.  Worked fine after that.

@Kblee

 you can ask the code to send to email instead
On the screen it is expecting you to enter the code, click Didn't get the code? or  Resend code and then choose Send email

aftet you logged 8n, go to Profile pages Manage click EverSafe id and you can update the phone number there

Once a number port has been requetsed, it imemdiately replaces the number already on the Public Mobile account.  Please select the button that says that the code wasn't received and have the 2FA code sent by e-mail message instead.
