I see they have this community discount, if you are active in the community you get discounts on your plan.
I'm just wondering how much work it is to get a discount and if it is worth it. Or if there are any really easy ways to do it.
Thanks guys!
I'm broke haha

It's not very profitable for your time to post on the forum, but it is a community. It's good to help your Canadian neighbors save money, and through their technical issues. If you check back often, you can find all sorts of useful tips! Red Green says:

Getting paid to hang on in Community requires knowledge, fast fingers and limitless time.
Secret formula how top 10-20 contributors are selected is just that - secret. It is Not only how much posts you post but how many Bravos you get from others, how many Solutions you contribute to.
Being here should be more fun and learning then source of income.

@hairbag1 You forgot to mention to leave the ones with the yellow coloured water alone.. 😂

Some PM old timers recommend collecting pop bottles on the side of the highway would be more profitable...but do it quick as the snow will cover them soon. 🤣

If you're on points then you don't get a discount. You earn points that can go towards paying some of your plan.
You would get a discount on rewards.
There's no set known amount of work required to get the minimal reward/point. It varies depending on community activity volume. You need to be able answer questions in a timely fashion (you're "competing" with everybody else here). Hopefully you might get bravos from the questioner or others. Maybe even your answer would get selected as the solution to the question.
How all of that is computed has never been officially publicized.
Be aware that it's about helping others. Not the reward/point. It's absolutely not worth the value for time spent to get whatever reward/point. It's far far easier to work at a part time job a couple hours a month to get the equivalent in reward/point.

@NotJoseph It will vary from month to month depending on the number of customers participating each month. Plus it's sorta secret formula of posts/solutions and probably bravos received. It would be easier to get the lower amounts of $1 or $2 rather than the higher amounts capped at $15 for all participants except oracles who receive $20/month.
Main idea is to post something helpful if answering a question and refrain from being repetitive many minutes later in a thread, if possible.

Here's some light reading to answer most of your question. (Assuming you're account was activated after January 2022)

HI @NotJoseph It is a top secret for PM how to rank the participation to give out rewards.
Just come here couple days a week for 10 mins. Post your questions, answer those you have an answer, bravos others' posts. I think it is not too hard to get $1 or $2 (or 1 or 2 points) this way. Getting higher tier will be a lot more work. The joke here is , your time would be more rewarding to pick up cans on the street 🤣

To help out in the community you must learn about public mobile so start asking questions first and the more you learn then you'll be able to help other people out. You can drop in a few times and you may be able to earn a dollar or point or two but it takes a lot of hard work to earn the higher amounts.

It is a lot of time spent on here to achieve the $5 to $15 rewards. The $1 and $2 is attainable with a few quality posts each week.

@NotJoseph Welcome! Yes you can! All you have to do is post on the Community or reply to other members issues.

@NotJoseph , community participation is pretty much a labor of love. The effort to get the larger rewards is very high.
