Hi
I have been using public mobile with 6 first numbers 506 230...... in newbrunswick. Now when I'm calling to toronto it says that long distance charges are applied . I am going to toronto to live there I was wondering this plan that I have been using is only for newbrubswick? and do I need to change it to avoid having long distance charges. Because after several calling to toronto my units were done. !!!
Thanks
Maryam

Try putting a (1) in front of the phone number to avoid getting that message. There are no overages, extra billing or fees at public mobile. It either works and is included in your plan or it doesn't work.
You can also gets free fongo or textnow phone # with a local Toronto phone # if you like.

I dont think provincial wide calling has been offered in quite awhile so unless you jumped on in that window you should be good to call anywhere in Canada, so you could keep your number unless it is advantageous to change to a GTA/Toronto number in another way (for ppl calling you etc)

Are you on Province wide plan by any chance?
All current PM Plans are Canada wide. Check if updating/upgrading plan will work for you.
You can change your PM number 4 times per 30 days. When you permanently settle in Toronto change your number to 416/647 area code. Mind you, you will not be able to keep your 7 digits number but would have to pick brand new number. It is not possible to change only area code...

@Maryami hi you won't get long distance charges anywhere in canada unless you are on the very old provincial plan you can go into your account and change to a toronto number if you wish

@Maryami Do you have plans with Canada-wide Calling? or just Provincial Calling?
All current plans come with Canada-wide Calling. If you have only Provincial calling, maybe you can change to the current plan.
Also, you can keep your number without any long distance charge by keeping your NB number. However, your friend in Toronto, if they don't have the free Canada Wide calling, they will have to pay LD charge. So, it could be better to pick a toronto number
