Cannot make calls or receive calls.

This is strange issue. I have been talking to an agent about this but haven't found a solution.

I cannot make calls or receive calls with the PM sim card. I have even gotten a new sim card. Texting and data works fine.

The PM sim card works fine in another phone that I have. My other Telus sim card works fine on this phone but for some reason PM sim in this phone doesn't work for calls.

Have done all the list of settings and resets.

Reboot many times

Remove and insert sim many times

Reset network settings many times

Airplane mode on and off

I don't have volte settings on my phone.

Reset APN.

Everything was working fine up to a week ago.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@Skins88 I meant msg PM. Haha.

@pc8202  and @Skins88  I think only older phones have this problem.  But I just read couple posts saying the service come back magically after couple days.  Try reboot your phone every couple hours for update

also, try set the network mode to 3G and check if voice calls work

Unfortunately my last msg from tech support is is a phone problem. Contact the phone manufacturer.

Please msg them so they know something has happened.

PS - I did try my original PM Sim card in a NORD One Plus phone & it did the same thing - no phone calls in or out.

Something hapenned last week ... what & why ??

I have the same problem with my LG G6 phone - no phone calls in or out, but have text messages.  Today I purchased another PM Sim card & it installed fine, but I still get no phone calls in or out.  What has changed in this last week or so - because it all worked well till just recently ?

3G is going away and you might want to do it sooner than later 🙂

given all the work you've done to troubleshoot, it sounds like its an issue with the device itself. since the sim card works on another device, the service isnt the issue. perhaps it could be a compatibility issue with your phone and telus/public mobile.

Do you have anyone that can let you try another provider/sim card in your phone?  If that doesnt work either, its almost a sure thing its a device issue.

Haha. Yes. That's always a solution. Trying to put it off a bit longer...

then it is interesting why Telus sim work and not PM.  But since the PM sim works on another phone, pretty sure it is not the sim or account problem, but the phone.  Maybe time to upgrade?

HI @pc8202

so, it is a problem with 3G in your area

can you change your network mode to 3G only or WCDMA only? check if the phone can connect under 3G or WCDMA.  If it does not connect at all, that would be the reason

It's a Huawei phone which may be the issue if they changed some volte parameters recently. This is a lower end Huawei phone Nova 4e and there doesn't seem to be any volte settings on it.

oh, that is new.

but I just checked PM's VoLTE page, they still posting the shortlist, no update yet

HI @slusagm

could be a VoLTE problem.

But there is a post yesterday telling us PM has opened up VoLTE to all phones since Nov 13.  But so far only one post mentioned that and no official announcement

i think it is VoLTE problem since Telus sim card works on yours

Telus allows all phones use VoLTE, but PM has a shortlist for VoLTE.

@pc8202

try disabling volte if its enabled OR try enabling volte if its not.

HI @pc8202

APN won't help with voice calls

it is a problem with your device, possibly some network bands problem.

What brand and model your phone?
