Hi, I tried to just activate my sim card and I can't without installing an app. Won't do that. Tried contacting customer support and it's a run-around of bots and "customer support agent" that can't do anything and now I'm sent to a "Community" for basic support. I'll be contacting visa and my bank to try to cancel this nightmare but in the meantime, is there anything I can do to cancel this here?

Years ago, it was easy to get on publicmbobile with prepaid cards and I enjoyed it. I even recommended it to a bunch of people. No more.

Response times do vary but they should respond at some point.

Other than contacting support the app is required to complete the activation but isn't needed after that. So you can use it one time and get rid of it if you want.

Thank you for that follow-up, but it's already been more than 2 hours and not a peep from them. I asked them to cancel it, we'll see how much time that takes.

@PrivatePerson you do have options if you do not want to install the app on your phone, if you are willing to wait for a support agent to get back to you (usually takes 1 to 2 hours) you can request that they activate your account for you. You could also install the app on a tablet or another phone/tablet and then uninstall it. But if you want to cancel you will need to reach a support agent

if you don't want to use the app to activate, and if you already passed the payment step , support can help to complete the activation (you don't really need the app any more after).  Of course, you can also ask support to cancel the subscription.  You can submit  ticket by direct message:
