  • I had so many difficulties with the Sim card and after 2 hours of trying I gave up. Cancelation is the only option.

@Bluzzman  What aspect of the sim card is giving you difficulties?  If you explain your problem here (no personal details though as this is public) we can probably help.  As @BKNS27 noted you do need to be using the Public Mobile app.  If you got to the payment stage and still want to cancel then contact customer service, open a ticket at the chat icon bottom right of this page.  If that doesn't work for you then send support a private message using this link and an agent will reply at the envelope icon top right or tap your avatar for messages.  Support should be able to help you activate your sim if you give them a chance.

@Bluzzman

You can only activate your SIM on the PM app and not on the website.

If you are not porting your old number and just picking a new number. Make note of the SIM card number.

  • Download the PM app and complete to step 6 with the PM SIM in the phone then reboot your phone by powering off then back on.

The steps must be followed in exact order if you are porting your number over to PM:

  • Make sure your old SIM is active so don’t cancel serviced with them.
  • Purchase a PM SIM from Amazon ($4.99), Canadian Cell Supplies ($6.99) or pick one up from Telus/Koodo store ($10.00) or free SIM or eSIM from Public (only if your phone is eSIM compatible so check).
  • Download the PM app on your phone to activate the SIM. Use the old account number and not the IMEI to avoid issues. Complete to step 6. Note that your previous service is Koodo prepaid…you will need to pick a temporary number and contact the CS_Agent to complete the porting of your old number.
  • Keep the old SIM in your phone and wait for the text from old carrier and confirm with YES you are porting over to PM within 90 minute window once you get the text.
  • Keep the old SIM in your phone until porting process is completed because the old SIM will continue to work for about 2 hours.
  • Power off the phone once porting is completed then switch to PM SIM and power on your phone.
