So I'm stuck with a phone that is only useful as a doorstop.
My renewal is today, I'm on auto pay but it didn't work.
Tried to pay online, still no go.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Yeah that would be helpful wouldn't it 🙂
With the alleged improved moderator response time, I think that's about all you can do. There was something in the maintenance notice saying something about 1pm ET but we're past that now. Restarting your phone *might* do something at this point though who knows.
Send ONE (1) private message to them here and include your phone number and PIN to minimize back and forth identity verification delays.
Forget your PIN? Then you'll need 3 of either of these pieces of information you used when you signed up: full address, birthdate, last 4 digits of CC you might have used, email address on the account, alternative phone number you might've entered when you signed up. Or, in addition, either of these to get to 3: last payment amount and date, last add-on bought and date.
And of course your question/problem.
Then hopefully they will get back to you as soon as they can between M-F 9-9 (ET) and Sat-Sun 9-7:30 (ET). But it could be up to a couple days.
Depending on your notification settings, you would get an email notifying you of a reply. Get back here and see a red blob over the little envelope in the upper right of your screen and click on it to see the message.

This is the maintenance going on these couple days. So this is the last day of your term. But seeing the red Plan Expired this long before you should normally be seeing it (7pm ET) reminds me of the maintenance.
The maintenance wasn't supposed to stop service though.
But also, it shouldn't be needing your money just yet. That happens overnight tonight.

I highly recommend everyone to top off in advance as this process can prevent the somewhat common occurrence of autopay failure which causes a PITA account suspension and loss of service.
I'm just wondering if anyone else does this? I always thought of Autopay as something that was automatic. I haven't had any issues with it since I signed up several months ago, but it seems like there have been a few instances of where peoples accounts starting going weird right after their account/plan renewed.

Zoomed in phone version showing the "plan expired" that is probably the most pertinent information

Oh! Can you post a screenshot of your overview page? Blank out personal info of course.

Tried lost, stolen phone hack also, no difference. Showing expected balance remaining I just can't pay it.

"Simply make a one-time payment from the “Payment” tab in Self-Serve and opt to pay the “Amount Due”. This will cover the new plan cost less any partial payment that was taken. After successful payment, your services should be fully reactivated. If your services aren’t restored, please reach out to our Moderator Team ASAP and they will help get things sorted out. "
If your current "amount due" shows $0, try private browsing / incognito mode or call 611.
If no matter what you try you cannot make a payment with your card you can go to recharge.com and purchase a payment voucher.
If you are still in a "current market plan" you can try doing a one time manual payment and then doing a plan change. Once paid if it still doesn't reactivate you can try the "lost/stolen" trick or add another manual $1 payment. LOST/ STOLEN TRICK HERE Remember to reboot your phone after each step.
If that still doesn't work go to recharge.com, buy a voucher and apply that to the account.
Unfortunately, sometimes auto pay fails. Think of auto pay as a method for public mobile to charge you IF your account does not have sufficient balance. If you have sufficient balance it does not need to autopay, but auto pay is still configured so you get the reward. There's the 611 service. You can use vouchers in both places as well.
So you're in suspension now? Do you have anything in your Available Funds?
