I just changed providers . I went from Rogers to Public mobile. I transferred my number. It’s been a few days . I can contact most people. There’s a few of my contacts that call me and just get a busy signal . I can not receive text messages from certain people . I’m super confused on why . Very frustrating. Specially when I’m waiting for a call from the hospital and they can’t reach me.

You need to leave your Rogers SIM in your phone while activating your PM SIM and wait for a text from Rogers confirming you are porting over to PM. You have 90 minutes to reply with YES or porting will be in limbo. This is to prevent illegal SIM swapping.
It sounds like your case, your Rogers SIM should still work is porting was not completed. You will need to contact a CS_Agent to restart the porting process:

If you did reply with YES within the timeframe, reboot your phone by powering off then back on.

Out of curiosity @Meghan2 , if you put your Rogers SIM back in your phone, can you still make calls?

@Meghan2 Try resetting network settings . See if that helps also is it possible to text SIM card in another phone

A critical part to porting is to receive a text from your old provider and you have to reply YES within 90 mins. If you are not receiving calls and text on your PM sim card, and only outgoing calls, wok then you might have missed the step and hence porting was not completed
There is a number to call to talk to live support, they can re-trigger the process for you. I will message the number to you via the Community inbox ( https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage ) . Check the envelope icon on top right. Call them and get it fixed
