Calls not received?

I was supposed to get a call from a doctor for a phone appointment at 1pm Pacific time. At 1:20 I received an email from the doctor's receptionist that the doctor tried to call and didn't get through. The receptionist also tried and didn't get through, she said there was a busy signal then it disconnected.

A friend tried calling me to test this though, about 30 mins ago, and that went through. Is there something going on??

Not sure if relevant, I had some difficulty making a call this morning around 11, it took multiple tries before I got through. The times it didn't work it rang several times then disconnected. This was also to a doctor's office which was definitely open and I somehow doubt it was a problem on their end.

Check if Do Not Disturb is disabled on your Android.

Two things to check settings on your iPhone.

1- Disable (turn off) Do Not Disable in Settings>Focus>DND

2- Disable Silence Unknown Callers in Settings>Phone>Silence Unknown Callers.

Well... I do have an iphone but if you have android..

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Network & internet. Internet. If you can't find it, search for the setting you want to change. ...
  3. At the bottom, tap Network preferences.

I managed to receive and make a call this afternoon without changing any settings, and I don't want to slow my Internet access (and I'm done making calls for the day), but is this something I can do to help avoid this problem in the future when expecting important calls?

No I've had this number with public mobile for several years (don't be misled by my username being new, for some reason I had to make a new one recently because I couldn't access my old one).

Are your instructions for iPhone? The only "automatic" I see is under "DNS" and I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

I managed to receive a friend's call and make a call out (managed to even get that doctor on the phone) so this problem seems highly inconsistent... Not sure that testing it further will really establish whether or not it's fixed.

Did you just port a number from a different provider?

In the mean time, try this.

Go to your settings, Network Settings, uncheck Automatic and choose Public Mobile. Then reboot. Then try a few calls and ask your friends to try you.
