Calling the USA

lpletzer

I recently had to do this & found the process a bit of a nuisance & way too expensive. Spending $15 for a whole bunch of minutes when I just wanted to make a 5/10 minute call really didn't fit my needs.

I'm sure there are lots of users that need to make this sort of call once in a while..an impulse purchase, family emergency etc., etc.

How about a fixed rate (ideally low) for this sort of situation. You could have a monthly time limit if that makes the idea more appealing.

Cheers.

@lpletzer

This addon will stay on your account for as long as it takes to use them up.

Sure, it may take a while; but they do not expire until all the minutes are consumed.

@lpletzer...download the free TextNow app to place free calls and texts to/from US. Works good using your wifi.  Did I mention it's free  !!

.. it would be nice if we can buy smaller block, like $5 for 200 mins.

However, looking at PM Long Distance addon, they are all $15 block.  I guess they want to make some money as well as easy management -- not too many options.

I doubt that would happen as PM is prepaid.  It would be more administrative work for PM being a second tier provider would be cost prohibitive.

@lpletzer  yes, it's $15 for USA LD calling minutes.

If it is just USA, maybe there are couple workaround.

1. you can buy Long Distance calling cards and I think they have $5 card.

2. you can try App calling.  TextNow is free to install and free to call Canada and USA.    You register and you will pick a local number.  Then you can make long distance calls to USA for free.

Yes, they are not be most convenient  solutions, but they are either cheaper or free .
