I'm trying to prove residency to ICBC and they want call history records out to at least four months ago. I can only find an option for up to the past three months through the public mobile website and I only have the option of viewing it on the website. Is there any way of accessing this information? A file format is highly, highly preferred, otherwise I have to send nearly unreadable screenshots of the website.
By the way, sorry to to vent, but it's absurd that I'm posting in this forum because public mobile is too cheap for proper customer service.

i do agree PM is too cheap .. price wise 🙂
I guess this is what you pay for .. we get our plan a bit cheaper but we give up the live customer support.
On the other hand, it's not lack of support.. open a ticket and Mod will reply. They will reply within 2 to 48 hours. And with the request of historical usage, I would imaging the 2-48hours support is sufficient
I am not sure if they can provide you with the information you want. But, no harm to ask.

@Moonkalf From this post I gather you did not do any checking or due diligence before signing up with Public Mobile. It is no secret that they do all customer service online. It says so on their main page. Had you taken the time to look at the help format, you could have went straight to opening a ticket, no need to post here first. This appalling lack of customer service is great at keeping prices down. If having someone to talk to live is important to you, you should move up to a higher tier provider.

If it's what they asked for, and if Public Mobile can provide it, I hope it works for whatever it's intended purpose.
What is odd, however, is how any entity (governmental or private) can assign proof of residency by simply getting lists of who someone calls or who they receive calls from.
Good Luck!!!

It think it is going to depend on who at ICBC looks at this information. I cannot imagine how it can be valid for what they are looking for (especially if this person knows how the billing and set up is for Public Mobile).
Usually, a service provider will have a bill format with the Bill To and/or Service address.
You could be anywhere in Canada with Public Mobile, but I cannot see how this is going to prove your residency.
But who knows - good luck with it.

@Moonkalf : Yup. And if they're satisfied with that then great. But I could imagine how it could be gamed.

They specifically asked for this information as proof of residency

I would say that even with the full name and address is on the Public Mobile receipt, the call log doesn't provide proof of who made or received those calls.

My advice would be to ask the provider who is requesting the information what other source of information they may accept in lieu of this.
Other than available usage records under your self-serve Usage History, unless the Moderators can access some other record within their systems, it's unclear they'll be able to provide call records.
You may wish to screenshot the available records under Usage History in the interim so at least you'll have them. Either that, or from the device itself, screenshot all the logs of calls if they're still on the device.

Moderators will not supply call history records (unless compelled by court order).
They will supply a statement of account which displays amounts charged and billed, but not records of calls/texts made or received.
The Usage History is really the only way to access historical records of calls and text usage.
