@AE_Collector you'd need a lot of referrals to break even on that $25 detla. Plus, with the 1st tier brand, you'd have access to phone-based support, hardware purchase (and optionally using a tab), VoLTE/VoWiFi (on supported hardware at least), visual voicemail, and other "perks" that the "less for less" Public Mobile gives you.

@dionroscoe I'm confused: why would you want to pay Public Mobile $100 for unlimited data, calling, and texting, when you can already get that from Telus ("Peace of Mind" plans: https://www.telus.com/en/bc/mobility/plans?linktype=ge-meganav), Bell (Unlimited plans: https://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Cell_phone_plans/Unlimited-plans), or Rogers ("Infinite +" plans: https://www.rogers.com/consumer/wireless/smartphone-plans?ipn=1#bring-your-own-phoneTabPlan) starting at $75???

@computergeek541 To tell you the truth I'm getting a little tired of that question so I thought I'd be a little naughty and play a prank on the OP. I just looked up the number and played a little with letters until I came up with an appropriate blurb....blame it on boggle, scrabble or even probe...
My parents liked us girls to have an educational element to game night.....

I never even knew that Telus number spelled that.
@computergeek541 Did you call it or just figure it out?
I already knew about 1-866-558-2273 being a Telus number. I was a Telus Mobility customer at one point. I've just never seen it written the way that it was in your post.

It's very easy to jump from one plan to another if you run out of data, and if afraid that your plan would disappear you can right away schedule the move back
The only problem is if your plan is not offered or if you have to hold a promotion. But even in that case it's not the end of the world, just contact moderators, it's a bit of more work and most of the time the response time is reasonable.
That said, what I think would really make it great is cheaper add-ons and more variety. Make 250 for $5, 1g for $10, 3g for $20, 5g for $30 and 10g for $50. People would buy them like socks.

You have to remember that PM is not a wide open competitor like say Freedom Mobile. PM is a Niche market provider owned by TELUS. They aren't attempting to grab customers in any segment ypthat they can, just a certain segment of the market and wanting customers to move within tge TELUS owned providers as needed.

@dionroscoe I doubt PM have such an option since it is a good provider for some cost-sensitive users who do not use their phone often
01-02-2020 04:48 PM
Lucky Mobile, and I believe Chatr, offer unlimited data but they don't have any rewards available. If PM were to go that route, likely some rewards would be discontinued. I would doubt PM would offer it, but anything is possible at some point.
01-02-2020 04:42 PM
@dionroscoe Maybe in another continent but not here.
01-02-2020 04:16 PM
@dionroscoe No. Besides for $100/30 days you can already get 17 GB/30 days by renewing the $50 plan every 15 days.

They give us free data add-ons from time to time. Accent here is on price, so... But I'd you signup during 5g data add-on promo and if you receive from time to time gift add-ons, those that are not data guzzlers have it as if it was unlimited.
I know somebody on 25 with 5+1+1 add-on and has used just a bit above 100megs of extra in 8 months.
So if you pick the right data allowance, with these gifts you don't have to be overcharged for unlimited

I am not sure because PM tries to compete using cheap and affordable plans.
01-02-2020 04:09 PM
@dionroscoe I very much doubt PM would offer plans that would cost $100/ 30 days, seeing how it is a prepaid service and very much geared towards more budget conscious customers.
But who knows what they may decide to offer in the future:)

Keep an eye on the Announcement section for new plans. I haven't heard of unlimited data being offered any time soon...but you never know.
