There could be a variety of reasons @Meow... check your actual data or minutes or long-distance consumption, cycle renewal date, voucher top-up, etc. Many of us probably don't log in regularly, but I can see the benefit of having this information.
Personally, I prefer no app to keep costs low (and they seem to be problematic for me anyway). 🙂

Why would you need an app for mobile service provider??? To log in into your account/community? I do not see any added value to already great service. It will just introduce another product somebody has to maintain, update, improve, QA, answer questions, etc. etc. KISS method is the best!

Think we should be grateful PM isn't trying to develop & maintain an app. They barely have the energy to squash current bugs that impact autopay, activations, porting to name a few. 😩

I'm with the others... the less "extras" we get beyond basic, reliable service, the better chances we have of keeping our low Plan rates + random (holiday) freebies.
I was going to suggest the same as @darlicious - bookmark My Account in your home screen with your favourite browser (or try using the Hermit app that creates your own from a weblink!), and you can even have it save your username/password for instant access like an app! 🙂

PM is a third tier provider so they don't invest in the time and money to develop an app. If you use an Android phone there is an unofficial app called Data Witness.

Telus just doesn't like app..
I don't think cost or Tier 3 is the reason.. even Koodo.. they used to have one and they got rid of it couple years ago
