For the past week or so, mine and my wife's Public Mobile phones have shown 5g service, not LTE or LTE+ as we've had for years. Any explanation for this? We are in the same part of the city and no changes in hardware

@ballastrika Because PM just introduced 5G plans but you will still get the 4G /LTE speeds your paying for currently no need to worry about it
also there a new 4G plan that’s 20Gn for $39 if your not aware already with no expiry and you get to keep your old rewards if your on it

@ballastrika because Pm is on Telus 5G network now
But like before, your plan will determine your speed even you are connected on the better network
So 3G speed plan max ar 3Mbps and 4G max at 100

Public Mobile start offering 5G network and plans to customers this last week. Depending on location of user and phone specs, customers now are able to access the 5G network. Suppose to be better and faster. If on 3G or 4G plans, even though you are connected to 5G network, you data speeds will be throttled to your data plan speed.
