those minutes are for use while the call originates in Canad, as others have said. For use in US, you'd need one of the 15 Day US talk/text/data options available in your self service menu

@SS9  No that’s just for making calls from Canada to abroad , for use in the U.S. you need  US roaming add on or CAN/US plan
