Our son is out of the country until April, 2025. We want to keep his phone number and don't mind paying a monthly fee while he's away but obviously want that to be as low as possible. Is there a dormant account setting that let's you keep the number active? Or do we just choose the lowest available subscription price?

well maybe you can help me explain that rational to a couple of my referrals who feel they were snookered into upgrading to $29 plan (just before Rewards was eliminated)...only to discover cheaper plans were no longer an option for them.

There is no such rule that says customers can't change to a lower priced plan. While many customers no longer have lower priced plans available than the current plan, other customers do still have plans priced lower than the current plan available.
So what is the criteria to get on the list of lucky customers who can downgrade. I think only in very rare cases, can customers downgrade now.
The cases aren't rare at all. However, I do agree that Public Mobile is offering plans targetted to each customer. The criteria isn't something that has been disclosed by Public Mobile.

There is at least one basic plan available that is that I use, combined with any applicable mon. discount = less than $16/mon., and it was half that, previous to the corp. management hoping for larger yrly bonuses ! 🙂

@hairbag1 I am on a $34 plan and the $30 plan is available to me. I think most $34 plan holders would have the same option.

hi @Ian44
what is the lowest price plan you see his My Account? Change to that
and further save money, you can turn off Autopay on his account, and the resume service for 30 days every 90 days to keep the number alive (account can be suspended for no more than 90 days at a time). With him coming back in April, you probably only need to resume service for one time. You can tell us his upcoming cycle renew date and we can explain that in details

Truthfully, that's a lot of money wasted. You can drop it to a much lower plan or check your mail box for a different option I sent you.
