More data could possibly be used when the data connection is faster because video streaming service often use adaptive quality settings that increase the video resoution if the data connection is faster. However, if the video quality is set at a fixed rate/resolution, the amount of data used up to view the video will be identical regardless of the speed of connection.

Or if you have an Android you can actually look at data usage by app.
To the OP, I don't have a 5G plan, but getting 2.5x the speed of a 4G plan or 83x a 3G plan, I could see how you could eat through it quicker.

Definitely experiencing that also. I had the 3g/4g 20g plan and never ran out. Switched to 5g 3 month plan and burned through 75g in 2 months.

@Kmax83 No not really but I do find it kills my battery faster then 4G/LTE

@Kmax83 it could when you are browsing a lot
Like when you are browsing video, you could be just watching 10 seconds and lost interest and moving on, but in the background, the device already buffered a longer longer clip on that 10 seconds on 5G than 4G.
Similarly, some site like Facebook with Autoplay, you are scrolling down and the app would have downloaded more during this short time

Guess it really depends what your doing with the data. Sometimes watching YouTube or streaming 320kbps music can eat away at your data. You can go to settings and click on battery. It should show you what apps are using the most battery and that may help narrow it down. Plus you may wish to use WiFi when home at all times to save data. Cheers Kmax83 .... I mean Tia.
