Hi,

I am using a Galaxy S20 FE 5G. My subscription for 5G started June 12, 2024. But the phone only shows LTE/WCDMA/GSM. How do I make 5G  appear in my network mode?

I can vouch that not even the version of this phone sold by Public Mobile will get 5G on this service.  It is not a significant impact to performance but leaves a bit of a source taste in the mouth nonetheless.

@kkss I have the same phone.  The 5G does NOT  work on Public Mobile. You would need to go to Telus or koodo for this.

@kkss  That phone will not show 5G on Public Mobile but you should still get good speeds on LTE, have you done a speed test?  The phone would need an update from Samsung to be able to show 5G and it doesn't seem that is likely from previous posts here.

make sure you have 5G enabled in settings on your phone. If that is enabled and you are on a 5g plan, but still not seeing 5g on your phone, there is a chance you are not currently located near a 5g tower

Hi @kkss, If you are not close enough to a 5G tower your phone will drop down to the next fastest speed available. Keep in mind that at 5G PM is capping speed at 250 Mbps and with LTE you are able to get very close to that speed as well
