Hi,
I transferred to the 4G plan for $40 and 15 gb. My phone still says I'm on 3G.
Does anyone know how to get the phone to sync with the new 4G speed?
On the customer service portal it confirms I'm on the correct plan and I'm in an area that it isn't a problem.
Thank you for your help.

That's LTE Advanced. That type can do faster speed but Public throttles it down to 100Mbps.

Hi @agora yes LTE is 4G
LTE is more a technical term while 4G just means the 4th Generation of Mobile

The phone indicating that you're connecting to a certain network type isn't an indication that the speeds have been increased yet. You can connect to the LTE network even on a 3g plan.

@agora Yup that's correct

Thank you. So LTE means 4G and if the phone indicates LTE then I'm on 4G?

One thing you can try is to turn off, then turn on your phone (re-boot).

In the past, did you manually select 3G in phone settings ?
Open phone settings / Cellular Data Options / Voice & Data ...make sure LTE is selected.

All plans use the same network types. The difference is only speed. If your phone says that you're connected to a 3g network, that means that there is either no LTE servcie in that area or your phone has been manually set to only connect to 3g networks, or that the phone isn't comaptible with LTE. If you're simply referring to the speed, it takes up to 48 hours for the faster speed to take effect.
