$10 SIM Card Fee Online vs Instore

Frost98

Hi there!

Looking to join the Public mobile family and was wondering if the promo of the $0 SIM card is still available if you activate in store? Or is the $10 SIM card fee mandatory?

I am porting over an existing device and number to Public in case that detail is needed.

Also, Public mobile is having a different promo on their website now. If you purchase one SIM card, you will receive 2nd one for free. So, if you are not in a rush, you still have the option to purchase directly with Public mobile.

@Dunkman - this doesn't show up for me. It only shows 1 SIM for $10 each.

@esjliv

You are correct. Thanks.

I just checked again and the free SIM card does show up.  However, I also check with private mode and it does not show up.  Another cached website issue?

@Frost98

It is true that Public mobile shipping times for SIM cards can range up to 3 weeks to receive.

Edit: Not available  Cached website error on my computer

The friend referral credit of $10 is suppose to cover the costs of the SIM card.  There is no further activation costs like other mobile companies.

@Frost98   sorry, the free sim promotion is finished

Yes, the sim is mandatory for activation.  You can get a Public Mobile sim card in Telus or Koodo store for $10 and then activate yourself online at https://activate.publicmobile.ca/.

Or you can also order from Amazon for $6

I do not recommend you to order from PM online as it could take as many as 3 weeks to ship

And yes, you can port over existing number into PM.  You can request that during activation process

But before doing so, confirm your number can be ported into PM here:
