I bought a brand new phone, moved sim card from old phone to new one and getting unsupported Sd card message. What does that mean?

On the left side of the SD card there is a sliding switch, usually white, to lock/unlock it. Make sure it is unlocked. See pic below, switch is pushed up to the unlock position. It is easy to inadvertently move it.

Are you talking about "SIM" card or "SD" card? Your message mentions "SIM" card while the title says "SD" card! Note that they are 2 completely different things, each has ít own slot and one is for mobile communication and the other for storage. . If it is really an SD card for storage then the different causes can be :

Could be the SD card is bad; buy another one and see if that works.

Chances are that the flimsy plastic SIM tray is cracked and misaligned as a result not reading the micro SD card.
Also it needs to be format for the Samsung phone.

@ShelleyA if it is really a SD card, the SD could could have formatted as an internal storage on the old phone. That kind of format cannot be used on the new phone unless you re-format it
you might want to put it back to the old phone, move all content away. Then take the SD card back to the new phone and format the SD card again for it to be used on the new phone.

@ShelleyA The fixit shop should have fixed it for you
Samsung A13 is one of those with SD card and sim card on the same tray, there is a chance that either the SD card was really not put in properly or the sim card was put in wrong. Also, Some A13 support Dual sim card and I am not sure if the sim card was put in the correct one and the Sim manager setup properly if you have one of those
can you remove the sim tray and confirm:
1. do you have just an sim card there?
2. was the sim card put in correct ?
Maybe post a picture of what it is now
