But why the hesitancy to understanding what transpired - how is learning achieved otherwise?

A thread was created because of a problem a user was causing, now things have calmed down and gone smoothly.  That should be enough and be happy things are getting better.

No, it's not 'needed'.   However, any learnings which may be gleaned from it may be more useful than not.
