I see that PM found the sweetspot for middle data users. But, there are many others who just need enough data for some occasion like transiting or going on a local trip. It even comes in handy when there is a problem with Wi-Fi. I am sure having as little as 1GB was the option that suited many. I see that PM is targeting user for that awesome $120 plan, but it will not be the choice for many other who don't need that 6GB or 3GB data. I don't see this hurting when you will be targeting light and medium data users. For light data users, they got no choice. There is a big difference between 1GB @ $90 and 3GB @ $111. I do not see the point to just ignore light data users. That 3GB options should not be offered because there is only $9 difference to get extra 3GB so who wouldn't?

So, i think PM should bring back that $90 / 1GB plan because getting on the plan without data and than adding $30 add-on would be too much.

Thanks.

@gmd Public has always been about unlimited though. They NEVER had caps.

The only time they tried people screamed murder (when Telus took over and capped the CDMA unlimited data plans at 1 or 2 GB)

I do agree that many users have no use for international txt & were perfectly happy with Canadian only

Hi @Brooke_C,

This is actually bad news for me. I am currently away from Canada so when it was time for me to renew last month, I had to cancel my $90/1GB plan because I would be only be in Canada for a week after the renewal. So I went for the $15 for 10 days calling only plan to get me through that week. Now when I come back next month, from what you are saying, I can't go back to my $90/1GB plan?

@Kalla_A was the one who helped me with getting the $15/10 days calling to work because of a mistake I did on the Self Servce website. Kalla_A, same question for you, when I return next month, does that mean I can't go back to my old plan since my account is currently suspended and the last plan I had was the $15/10 days calling plan?

Adding options should not mean removing options. If the 4 GB option can go to 6 GB, the 1 GB should go to 1.5 by the same logic. Instead, they rather have customers second guessing their decisions.

A higher ARPU is only good if it doesn't come with a higher churn.

Public Mobile is actually losing many of their future customers because of their newer plan rates. I had so many friends who were ready to switch to PM on 90$ plan but because of the new plan rates, no one is interested anymore. Please bring back the 90$ plan back. I feel sorry for my friends as they were late by only few days to switch to the 90$ plan.

I really think they should re-consider it...

The main reason why we are maintaining our decision to remove the plan is so that we can continue to offer the lower rates for our new plans. Members are saving up to $26 on a 90 day plan as a result of the new rate plans we launched! One of the trade-offs we had to make in order to deliver this was removing the 90 day/ 1GB plan. We hope that you understand.

It's hard to understand that the main reason is to offer lower rates when it cost us more money! The old plan has a lower rate!! Please bring it back!!!

One of the things that I've always liked about Public Mobile is that you listen to your customers. Well, here you have customers practically screaming that they want the smaller 1 GB 90 day data back, so please listen to your customers! There is no logical reason why you can't offer savings on the bigger data tiers while still offering the smaller data tiers for those who want them. It's a win win for all of your customers.

My personal guess is they removed both the 1GB & Canada TXT options because the base price was too low after pick3 discounts.

The other option would be bring back those options BUT make them only qualify for a lower discount

Hope they do. I don't see any point to offer the new 3gb plan. Who would ignore the extra 3GB for $9 more? When there is a big difference like the $90 1GB plan, then they would.
