If giffgaff.com and Public Mobile had an arrangement to stock each others' sim cards travellers could get one via local delivery.

Canadians going to UK/Europe would order a giffgaff card from PM, and

UK visitors to Canada would order a PM card from giffgaff.

Both can be activated online and both companies support unlocked phones. Of course, Koodo/Telus phones will not function in Europe.

I like the idea.

Could be very convenient and tap into an additional market of international travelers.

Could do similar deals with the US and other popular destinations as well.

I am sure PM can do the research and find out which countries Canadians visit most frequently and also where we get the most tourists from.

One potential problem I see is with payments.  I don't know if PM accepts foreign credit cards but Paypal can surely be integrated for those who get a PM sim card from a partner in home country and activate it before leaving for Canada.

Right, forgot about payment. I know giffgaff accepots my Visa card but don't know about vice versa.

Hey @Luddite,

This is a really neat idea! Our current priority is on the Canadian market, rather than focusing on customers who are coming to Canada for a shorter period of time. We want to make sure that everyone has an exceptional experience with us, and we know that there is still a ways to go!

When we do shift our focus to the traveler segment, we will be sure to include this an as option.

Thanks for you idea!
