One plan only elligible: 90 day provincial calling, global texting, 6 GB data $120 and must be activated between August 22 - Sept 22/16.

 

Referree AND referrer receive a credit on their account:

      a) for accounts activated before Jan 27/15 both receive $5

      b) accounts activated after Jan 27/15 referree receives $5 and referrer the usual $1/30 days reward

 

Advertise by email blast to ALL account holders as of August 21/16.

 

Manage credits similarly to the Canada Post rebate. To receive the credits the REFERRER sends an email from their account email address to backtoschool@publicmobile.ca with their account number, and, the email address and account number of their referree. So, it's a manual operation that requires no back end programming and there is 90 days to clean it up since only the 90 day plan is elligible. This email must be received by Oct 15/16.

 

Suggest using account number to avoid the situation where customers elect to port, or choose, a different number while the rebate is being processed.

 

Generating ideas is SOOOO much easier than doing them! Robot LOL

I have been part of 2 discussions with the PM staff (hangouts and in person) where I recommeded the 1GB data as referral reward.  Happy to see the implementation is coming very soon now.  

 

 

 

The overall trend is towards greater data usage and big majority of potential customers will perceive a greater value in this referral reward.  

 

Also, within the context of PM, that 1GB data add-on has a value of $30, which may be worth highlighting to our friends when referring them to PM.

@Brooke_C is the one time data credit like the other add-ons? In other words, if you add a 1GB data boost it never expires, does this work the same?

From this, i understood that the extra 200MB or 1GB will be like an add-on but only usable for the first month. So, if someone on 90days plan were to use 700mb during the first 30days, they will have remaining 3GB available to use for the remaining days. That extra 300MB they did not use will disappear.

@kav2001c, you are correct. The one time data add-on reward does not expire, similar to how our data boost works. What I meant by "one time" is that receivers only get the data reward (200MB or 1GB) once. The receiver cannot redeem the data reward multiple times during their time with Public Mobile.

Just to clarify, that new referral scheme is coming soon and isn't available yet? I'm waiting for my SIM to arrive and haven't activated yet, but I'd be inclined to wait a little longer if I could get that.

Is the Back to School referral scheme up and running yet?  I'm expecting my SIM card this week and I have a referral code from a current PM memeber. I was wondering how I go about using/making use of this referral?

 I've just activated the account with PM today.  Am I eligible for the receiver data reward?  (I signed up for 90-day) plan.
