Log into your account and select Plan and Add-ons

scroll down to Add-ons 

make sure the add-on is listed there. 

If not, you’ll need to notify a moderator.

it should be working right away as I purchased the data add on. unless you purchased the us roaming add on(wrong one) but using in Canada.

If you purchased the US addon(s) make sure you have data roaming turned on.

Did you turn on the data mode of the phone?

What make/model phone is it? Maybe it's not compatible with the data services here.

Then there's the APN settings.

Make sure that your APN setting is correct. What type of phone you using ?

Did you add funds to your account before buying the addon? Did you buy a US or Canada addon? Does the main page of your account show the addons?

Can you post a screenshot of your account, with personal data removed?
