what happens when usage more than plan limit

I have 500MB, and wonder what happens if I use more than this monthly limit? Will I be charged extra or data stop working?

@vit100, one of the good things I like about prepaid, and specifically PM, is that you can never get overage charges.  In essence you get what you pay for, and if you try to go beyond that, then the service won;t work.  for example, try calling long distance without a long distance option, unless you use a calling card, that call won;t go through.  So with 500MB, that's your limit and you can't go over.  You will receive text notices from PM advising when you've reached the 75% and 90% mark, just to help you gauge your usage before month end.

@vit100

Exactly, the only major advantage is that your data use can be spread over three months.  Otherwise, no other advantage.

Hm... What is point of 90 days plan if cost is same as 30 days * 3?

Does it mean that data 1.5GB for 90 days can be either used on day 1 or on day 89, and it gives kind of more flexibility if case spice in data usage?

Always nice to follow up the wall of words with an illustration.

Ok. I got it. Probably it is good idea to stop traffic after limit. I used to be with speakout, and they charge after limit with same rate as original package cost.

I wonder if i run out of limit, but i need it urgently (whatever reason - in trip, etc), there is no chance to get data?

You can purchase a 1GB data add-on for $30 through the self-serve system. But if you run out of data, you're going to have to log in on another device. You also have the option of dialing 611 and adding more data that way. Maybe someone else here can explain how the calling to add data works (I've never done it).

Something that should also be mentioned, when you use up your allotted data bucket, that information disappears in My Account under My Data & Add-Ons

Two weeks ago for me... you'll notice the 3GB Data line...

Yesterday, after my data was used up... that line disappeared...

@vit100, your usage will stop at 500 Mbytes and not one bit more.  When you do reach the limit, you will see data usage no longer showing in the overview page of your self serve account.  Should your data run out before the renewal date, you have the option of either buying a data add-on, asking the moderator team to complete an early renewal to restore data flow.  Alternatively go cold turkey until the normal renewal date.

You data will stop working even you have available fund in your account..  PM prepaid service is different from Chatr.  If you have money sitting in your Chatr account, Chatr will take money in your account to pay for overage until your Chatr account has zero  balance.  That is the reason why people call Rogers robbers.

This is a pre-paid service. You don't pay, you don't get. No surprises.
