Friend needs:
a Public Mobile Sim
your referral code or mine😀
to leave existing carrier up and running
activate PM Sim with a plan and *port number over, leaving old Sim in **phone
*if port option does not work in the “activate” process then take a PM number and then do a port request using a MOD.
**old carrier may text you to verify that it is ok to port number. Porting out will most likely close the “port from” account.
Put PM Sim in phone.

you meant he wants to port in his number into PM?
Does he has a line setup with PM yet? If not, give him your referral code and ask him to setup the account first. He can go to Walmart to have the people there help setting up and get a free SIM. Or he can order SIM from PM directly (maybe take longer) or from Amazon (around 2 days if he has PRIME membership). During the setup process, there is a question about porting in number. He just have to provide the provider name, account number and name on the account
If he already on PM now (the line already active), he will need to open a ticket with Mod to help porting the number. Open the chatbot at publicmobile.ca/chatbot and enter "port request." This will put you in touch with the moderator team.
