Issue transferring phone number

Hey y'all! 

 

So, yesterday (Dec 22nd) I started the transfer process from Virgin to Public Mobile! On my phone, it seems that things are working with Public Mobile; I can even see my data usage/calls on Public Mobile's website.  However, I called Virgin support today, and they said the transfer wasn't successful, and my number was still under Virgin. So, I am really confused... I need help to understand what is going on and finalize the process, closing my account with Virgin etc.

If the PM SIM is working and the Virgin SIM doesn’t work then porting is completed.

If Virgin SIM works then there is a hiccup in the porting and your Virgin account is still active.

@Juliani, with you new Public Mobile SIM activated are you able to make and receive calls, text in/out and use data (make sure Wifi is off for this test)? If all 3 are working fine then your port was successful, another option would be to have the Virgin SIM installed and to test all 3 services. If the Virgin SIM still works, especially for calling in and out, then the port did not complete and you will need to engage with a Public Mobile support agent to retrigger the post request as the others have mentioned. Use one of the links already shared with you

when porting your number over you should get a text confirmation that you have to reply Yes to, once you do that it should automatically close the account at the previous service and port should be complete to the new service. If you have done that, and you can see/use all services here with Public, then you should be fine and it may just be a delay on the Virgin account side.  If you did not get that text, you may have to redo the port.  I would get in contact with a Public Mobile customer support and have them verify if it is all completed, you can message them here:
