During the signup process you have the option of selecting a new number or to port an existing number. Did you select a new number or did you try porting your number from the get go?
If you tried porting your number and the port wasn’t completed that would cause an error to be displayed if you tried to manually trigger the port again. If you started the port during signup I’ve sent you the number to the porting department. They will be able to help get this sorted for you.
The freedom account will need to be active still and you must have the SIM in your phone in order to reply to a message to authorize the port. Once you lose service on your freedom sim is your sign that the port is completed and you can insert the PM sim and reboot your device.
