porting phone number gone wrong?

Last night I bought the plan, my initial plan with Rogers was cancelled before I had bought the plan with Public. I can make phone calls (has my old number pop up), but I can’t send or receive any text messages. I also cannot confirm the 6 digit code that it continues to try to send me. Someone please help.

yes, you can give up the port.

Usually you can easily change number from My  Account, since you cannot access it, best to have PM support to assign you a random number first, then you can login My Account and pick a better number yourself

you were trying to port the number from Rogers?

For porting , the account on the old provider MUST BE active. Since your Rogers was cancelled, the porting was stuck and hence you are not receiving incoming calls and text.

You can call Rogers first, ask them to resume your account so you can port.  They will do that.  So, please call

once confirmed with Rogers and set, call PM porting team and ask them to retrigger the process.  I will message you the phone number, please check your community inbox.  After porting is retriggered, put the Rogers sim card back, wait for rogers to send you a text and you will need to reply YES within 90 mins to approve the port
