If you bought your phone from PM you have 1 year warranty. Follow procedure for warranty claim, open ticket (if it is working) or contact agent directly.

The phone could be blacklisted (registered as lost/stolen/etc) and deactivated. If so, it will do nothing other than Emergency calls and (if the owner enabled the feature) sneakily run "Find My iPhone" in the background.
If you bought the phone new in box then it's likely not blacklisted. If you bought it used or obtained it from another owner then you just can't know unless you look up the phone's status at an online database. You'll need your phone's unique IMEI.

The phone could have been bricked or soft-locked with a bad, broken, or incompatible update. It happens sometimes. It's easy for end-users to follow the prompts but still get stuck installing a malfunctioning update for the wrong version, wrong device, or wrong region.
You can try restarting it while holding the "secret" button combination which invokes built-in diagnostics and recovery mode. This will do a firmware rollback if needed. It will likely also do an unavoidable hard-reset, aka "factory reset", which erases all user data from the device. If the phone is still bricked after this then your only options are to throw it away, take it to a repair shop, or interact with Apple's "genius" people.

It sounds like it might be a motherboard issue. Will it communicate with iTunes?

@mmaydan that's not good. Since the phone comes with 1 year warranty, open a ticket with PM and provide them with the order number, they will advise what to do to have that checked and repaired
To open ticket with PM:
1. If you have access to Self-Serve My account: For faster response (2-48 hours) , Click on the bubble in the lower right to request CS Agent assistance, or use this direct link: https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.
Start with typing "Submit a ticket", click "Contact Us", click "Other" from the choices, click "Click here to submit a ticket". Then follow to complete the ticket submission.
2. If you don't have access to My Account or have trouble with above method: you can Send a private message to the CS Agent here: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
**Monitor your Community inbox, envelope on the top right, after ticket is opened. CS Agent will reply and work with you via messaging there

Is your iPhone in the current update? It should be iOS 15.3.1. Go to Setting>General>Software Update to check.
There were issues with battery draining with iOS 13 and iOS 14. Also, check your apps that is draining the battery. Go to Settings>Battery and see what app is using a high % background activity. Uninstall the app then reinstall…the maybe a bug or glitch in the app.
