I bought a phone number from PUBLIC mobile 3 days ago, but people haven’t been able to reach me, and I’m not sure what the issue is. My phone number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Yeap, they said since it's not porting they cannot help. They then connected me to another support which said they only support Koodo and Telus!

I have purchased a plan with a new phone number. I can call people but cannot receive calls.

It is a new phone number. I have not ported a number.

Did you request a phone number to be transferred in or is this a new phone number? If you requested a number to be ported to Public Mobile, check if the service from the old cell phone provider is still working. That would be an indication that porting hasn't completed.
