I think when I joined Public they just transferred my settings which was to be unlisted. last agent said I need to upgrade my Public plan before I can change this. I feel this is incorrect.
Any help in this is greatly appreciated,
Ron

@0PX9O4 wrote:@Ronbsc Upon researching this issue further, it looks like none of the Telcos in Canada maintain phonebook records anymore. Instead this is mostly done by the Yellow Pages group. You'll find more information at the following website. Contacting YP from there may be able to get you listed in their directory:

I have found only fixed-location phone providers offer a 411 aka "white pages" listing. It is not normal for mobile numbers, and nomadic VoIP numbers to be listed. I actually tried contacting the white pages providers (forget who) and they will only say to contact your phone provider to get listed, and will not do it directly, even for a fee. VoIP.ms offers a service to supposedly get a 411/Whitepages listing, and I paid the $4.50 but it's been a full year now and still no listing... longstanding support ticket that they're working with their providers... https://wiki.voip.ms/article/Extra_Services_Costs#Directory_Listing_.2F_White_Pages_.2F_411_Listing
I did come across one other exception to this rule though... Apparently a SaskTel Mobility customer can request a listing via DirectWest "for free". Not sure what would happen if I "claim to be" a SaskTel Mobility customer when I am really with PM... how would they know unless they are able to check SaskTel Mobility customer records...

PM does not offer 411.
Here is a previous thread.

@Ronbsc PM does not offer such a service. I'm not personally aware of any prepaid provider that does.

Do other providers do that? I know when I was with Telus if I looked it up it only mentioned it was a Telus Mobility number. With Public Mobile being prepaid and no contracts I can't see them doing this as I am sure there is a constant wave of numbers being active and inactive each month.

I do not want to use 411. I want my phone number to be listed in the 411 directory.
thank you,
Ron

@RonbscPM is a prepaid cellphone provider and does not offer any directory listings at all. In fact, I'm not aware of any cellphone provider in Canada that does.
Or are you looking to USE a 411 service that you can call when looking for information?
