I need a new phone but I might just buy from elsewhere. Could I then keep a same plan
and get a sim card ?

That ZTE may be a little light on LTE. But it doesn't look like you would use it that way so maybe it doesn't matter. The Samsung mentioned may not be very good for talk here though.

I checked kijiji but many phones are cracked. I need a store that sells refurbished
phones under 100

There are 4G flip phones so just double check with the staff or seller.
Or let us know the make and model so we can check for you.

Yea this phone is 3G, its old flip phone. I dont care for smart phones but the battery is 5 minutes and buying a new battery is useless. So I need a 4G phone sadly. Im looking for 50 to 90 to buy a unlocked one.

Your account and phone information is linked into the SIM card but there are 3 SIM card sizes. Standard, micro and nano…newer phones uses nano size and standard & micro size on older phones. All you need to do if it is larger to snap off the spacer and the reverse if it is larger.
The problem with the $50 is that they mostly run on 2G and 3G frequencies. So check if it runs on 4G/LTE because 3G will be remove in 2025 to make room for 5G.

Tell us the make and model you're looking at and we can see if it's compatible with Public.
There's an even more basic plan at $15. Or $25.

OK sorry I had this phone forever but battery is 5 minutes and Ive seen smart phones for 50 bucks, so I just need to swap out the sim card from this old one and everything is fine ? I am on 30 a month because its basic, so that sounds good. I am not so tech savy thanks.

Phone has nothing to do with the Plan you choose.
You do Not have to purchase phone from Public Mobile.
Get phone (retail) or from somebody else, confirm and be assured it is not blacklisted or stolen or locked, purchase PM SIM, and proceed with opening self-serving account and activating SIM.

Yes, you can purchase your phone anywhere. You can keep your same plan. Just need to move your SIM card from your old phone to new phone. If the Sim card size is different, let us know. Otherwise, just can transfer SIM cards.
