my number showing up as spam caller

I've had numerous people tell me when I call them that their phone lists my number as "suspected spam".  I've had this number over 10 years. Is there a way to resolve this?

Rebooting the phone can't change what gets displayed on the other person's device when a call comes in.

The spoofer might stop pretending to call form that phone number, but teh database that identifies the number as spam is unlikely to be updated automatically.

I can confirm that in the case of True Caller. True Caller information doesn't get displayed if the number is already saved on the phone. The same is true when it comes to "name display".

Yes spoofing is an unfortunate occurrence. I guess your number was used by a spammer once upon a time and it got reported into databases to now be identified as spam.

Are you a contact in the phones of those people you call?

@gelmac    Sounds like your number got spoofed and unfortunately that happens to all of us and not much you can do unless you want to change numbers which doesn't guarantee that it won't happen again.

For now you can try to tell anyone asking why you're calling them that it's not you and the number is spoofed.  Usually, these spammers will move on after a few weeks to another victim.
