@Nancysun567 you might want to consider to port your number out to some VoIP provider. One example is Fongo. It costs you $25 to port in, and free to port out if stay there for longer than 3 months . During the time there, you can use the phone number on the Fongo app. But remember, when you port out your number later, you need to get a new sim card and activate a new account then

No. This is pre-paid service. There is a way to keep your number forever but it requires some work from your side. Due to no pay your account will be suspended for up to 90 days. Idea is to log in and pay the bill for next month around 85th day. Then another batch of 90 days of suspension; repeat.
Or just switch plan to $15 plan, set up autopay or deposit (at least) $180+tax on your account to keep account active and number in place.

If I understand the meaning, no. But you can deposit enough money to cover each renewal for a year. But that's a substantial investment.

There are no 1 year plans. All current plans are 30 days long. If you fail to pay for a renewal, the account will be closed after 90 days and the phone number will be lost.
