Physical sim to eSIM won’t transfer.  Have others found this an issue?  I’ve been in contact with support and so far no solution.

I understand, sometimes customers have experienced similar issues.  Kind of a last ditch effort.  Thanks for your ideas.  I actually made the same suggestion to them re: account setup and swap.  All the best!

honest, the community is just made up of customers.  Your issue seems to be back end issue with PM and none of us likely can help. Ask PM support to give you a more technical explanation.  Or ask if you can create a new account (and they move all your credit and rewards and phone number over) and test.  That's all I can think of 😞

The physical sim was turned off when I initially tried to transfer.  PM fixed this and my physical sim works.  I tried moving from physical sim to eSIM on the iPhone 15 in hopes that the system could more easily transfer eSIM to eSIM.  That didn’t work.
I am here because an agent told me my issue was suspended and they couldn’t help more.  I’m obviously not satisfied with that😁

so, the physical sim card didn't work on iPhone 15 pro either?

if so, that is really a problem with your account and you need to continue working with PM.  Try message them for update

Yes, and that didnt work either.  I get the same error whether i try on my iphone 15 Pro or iphone 17 pro.

did they suggest to change back to physical sim card first?  Yes, I understand your phone has only eSIM, but you an use your old phone or a friend phone to activate the physical sim back and then change to eSIM after.  Usually it is faster that way

if that still does not work, then it could be a probably with the iPhone.  Many members here activated iPhone 17 with eSIM without problem

I have been trying to get my account transferred to my new iPhone 17 Pro for 2 weeks.  I’m stuck in the loop of agents who ask me to do the same fixes repeatedly and imply the problem is me or my phone.  I’ve been told it’s escalated to IT but never get anyone from IT contacting me for details or ideas to try.

Re: Ticket ID:296605-977 SIM/Hardware Issues E2013-E

i have had agents confirm the IMEI is compatible.  I have reset network settings.  I have even wiped my phone clean and started from scratch.
the eSIM I purchased seems stuck as I can’t purchase another one and I’m told to install the one I have purchased.  When I try to install I try an error message.
I never received a QR code when this process started and on my first attempt the physical sim on my old iPhone was cancelled so I lost cell service.  Thankfully, an agent was able to restart it.
it seems to me that the back office should be able to clean out my eSIM and enable me to purchase a new one again. Or maybe start up a new account identical to my current one and go from there.

anyone have ideas?  I’ve tried all the simple fixes.

I’ve made some progress as they are looking into my IMEI.  It’s definitely an issue from their back office.

Are you still "waiting for activation"? I've been waiting since Friday and it's still not working 😕

thats what I did. Downloaded PM app, purchased esim, it's free. Only issue I'm having is getting RCS to work now. Waiting on Activation

Yep that seemed to work. Such a simple fix haha. Thank you!

SMS texts go to your old iPhone because iMessage is still active on it and linked to your phone number. To fix this, deregister iMessage by turning it off in Settings > Messages on your old iPhone, and also turn off FaceTime in Settings > FaceTime

@Lyntol

Did you removed all old sim and disable all old eSIM? Why you didn't set PM eSIM as Primary?  Even you need two sim, do above first to make sure the PM eSIM fully functional first

Everything looks good. I didn’t manually select is as primary but my old phone went straight to SOS when my new one activated.
I don’t see the last thing though, default voice line or cellular data to select the eSIM.

Did you set the eSIM as you primary? And did you reboot your phone after installation?

Settings > Cellular, then tap on your eSIM line and ensure "Turn On this Line" is enabled. Afterward, tap on "Default Voice Line" or "Cellular Data" and select your eSIM.

@KenB1

if you did this and still not working...try rebooting your cell Also, try a network reset (in your iphone settings)

Well, with my iPhone 15 Pro Max I was able to convert my SIM to eSIM with ease. However, what you may need to do, is to download the app on your phone, then purchase an eSIM. It's very easy as I did that on my iPhone 15 Plus. Took minutes.
