@TanyaWaiz did you get new number with PM or ported in number?
Try this
- Open Settings. Go to Phone and then My number.
- Remove the the number in this field.
- Turn your phone on and off again to reboot the settings.
- Repeat the step above but. manually put the phone number back
also, try this
- Go to Settings , then General > Date & Time (make sure the time zone is set correctly)
- Go to Settings , then Messages and turn off iMessage
- Go to Settings then FaceTime and turn off FaceTime
- Restart your device
- Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on and test

@TanyaWaiz - iMessage requires Data or wifi to use...i think you already know that though.
If you turn your data off occasionally, then turn off iMessage altogether and use regular text messaging instead. To do this, go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage off.
If you prefer to use iMessage, then you can perform the following steps to try and fix the issue:
- Connect to the internet using WiFi or Data.
- Go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage OFF.
- Turn your iPhone off completely, then turn it back on.
- Go back into Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage ON.
- Make sure “Send as SMS” is also turned ON.
If still issues, try to perform a Reset of your device's Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, VPN and APN settings, and connected Bluetooth devices that you've used before.
Iphone: To Reset Network Settings, begin by opening the Settings app. Next, tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. and enter your passcode. Your iPhone will reset network settings and restart itself.
