Do not join public mobile.  If you are 70 years old you might find it to be too troublesome.  Public mobile does not have stores that you can go to and get help.  Im trying to activate my phone plan with them and they seem incompetent.  I cannot imagine my old parents having to deal with this.  I would suggest going to a reputable company that has actual stores and real live people that can help you.  saving $5 a month isn't worth it.

Hello @heyubu

Happy New Year!

I have seen some people say you can ask for upgrade and they have been successful.  However, as you know that plan youbare referring to is for new activations only and people are being and can be denied if you are not a new client; which you are not. But what's the harm in asking?

Ask here

The downside is that you loose your phone number, years of service,  rewards and bonuses from over the years of being a client.

Some people have lots to lose by starting new, some do not. It depends on how long you have being a client and the amount of monthy rewards you are currently getting.  Then you have to determine if it's worth losing that rewards for the current option.

I personally, being  5 year client, will not.

hope this will help😊

@heyubu   Since today is supposedly the last day for this sale, you  may not hear back from customer support in time - whether they would still honour a request sent today I don't know and since it is for new activations they are not obliged to in any case.

The downside of a new account is that you would lose your current phone number since they can't be transferred between PM accounts.  Yes you would need a new sim and probably a new email address.  You would also lose any points/rewards you have accumulated, whether that's an issue or not depends how long you have been with PM

@heyubu  Only way is to ask support . They sometimes can help . Others have confirmed getting this plan just by asking . Otherwise yes you would need to create new account with new email and sim . But if your on old legacy rewards you will lose them and your number . Unless you port  number out and back in on new account . So best to just ask support first
