What is the actual true limit on unlimited USA-Mexico roaming?

The Public Mobile deal with 60 GB data for CAD $35 is an incredible price.

What are the actual genuine true soft/hard limits on this plan? I don't ever believe any mobile company selling "unlimited" features. TGTBT. I wasn't born yesterday.

I live between USA and Mexico. I visit Canada for maybe 1-3 weeks every year.

How long can I use Public Mobile in USA and Mexico? When will this start no longer counting as "fair use"? I use 30-60 GB data every month and 500-1000 minutes talk time. SMS not too much. I'd like to know how I'll get throttled and when? Speed downgrades? Lower priority data? I've tried some MVNOs in the US, even if they are on AT&T with the best reception, they are usually third-rate quality service compared to using actual AT&T service.

I'm wondering if it's worth the risk to change over to Public and find out six months later that I can no longer use your services. I expect that even if you tell me it really is unlimited, you'll probably change that policy after some time. I will make sure to use the plan to the fullest.

Most roaming plans I've seen around the world limit you to 30 or 90 days beyond the borders of the country of the carrier providing you cellular service.

This just sounds too good to be true, but I'll give it a try and see what happens. Will get an Alberta number to save on the taxes. That'll come to around $25 USD per month, it's rare but sometimes Canada has really good deals! Impressive to see the improved pricing in the Canadian wireless industry over the recent years. Will roll the dice and see how long it lasts. If anything, I'll post back here when I get cancelled.

@arielvega99 correct, I travel very little and live in Canada. The good news is, as PM is a pre-paid service, best thing you can do is set up the acct to autopay with your Canadian Credit card, and start using the service. There is no fine print that I have seen limiting users to there location based on usage. Unlimited talk and text, means just that from anywhere in the US /CAN and MEX.  Just keep paying until someone questions you, which I don’t think will EVER happen. Safe travels

Thanks for the long-term insight, good to know. However, I presume you mostly live in Canada, so there's no way to tell how PM would respond if you were outside the border 90%+ of the time after three years. That's what I'm curious about.

Both of those are easily worked around. Not an obstacle.

@arielvega99  If you're only ever in Canada for 1-3 weeks a year you may have to get around one or two obstacles.  I think a Canadian address could be worked around but do you have the required Canadian credit card?

@arielvega99  And further to the great info @BKNS27  has provided: this is not a plan offer that expires (ex: some companies will reel you in with a great offer but it’s only good for the first 12 months before they inflate the rate). There’s no guarantee that PM won’t raise their prices in the future, but I’ve been on my plan for roughly 3 years with no increase. So Once you subscribe to this $35 plan, that’s your plan price until YOU change it, by either leaving PM, or upgrading to a more expensive plan. Hope this helps.

@arielvega99

PM is a prepaid so pay first to receive service. Once you use up 60gb of data limit that is it. Your data will stop working and you will need to purchase additional data add-on to continue data service in all 3 countries.

Since there is unlimited talk and text in all 3 countries...talk and text as long as you want.
