I have been having problems for the last 2 months. I used to be able to connect anywhere, and never had any issues. Now my phone won't work in certain areas of town (Hamilton Ont). The cell tower map seems fine. I don't get it.

Try Reset Network Settings
And test the different network mode. change to 4G and test to see if it helps

I've also been having problems! I have a Pixel 8 Pro and regularly cannot use data - it's unfortunate because I use my 50gb as my home internet too. It started about a month or two ago. I've reset connections etc and nothing seems to work!

Is your phone only 3G? No connection won't happen if your phone can connect to LTE. For voice, you'll need VoLTE too. Try your sim in another phone to see if it works in that phone.

hi @sardines6
what phone do you have?
and is the issue just about voice calls but mobile data is working?
if only voice a problem, you could be affected by this:
Telus is refarming all of their 850 to 10 MHz LTE B5 in their markets, mainly BC, AB, Windsor, Ottawa, GTA area Montreal, Quebec City. Bell has not done this, so it won't affect area that has Bell networks which Telus/PM use
So, if your phone has only 850 Band 5 on the phone but lacks 1900 Mhz, if your phone were bought from another country, or an imported model, then you might be impacted
On the other hand, if the phone has 1900 Mhz, or it is a Canadian/US model, it likely won't be impacted and won't see service degraded

What phone are you using?
Have you tried to reset your Network Settings and then reboot?
If you're on an older phone, this may be the issue.
TELUS, Public Mobile’s Parent company, is currently refarming the 850MHz band 5 spectrum to enhance our 4G and 5G network. This involves testing and potentially altering how your device uses the 850MHz (band 5) on LTE and the 1900MHz (band 2) on 3G/HSPA.

You just need to make sure you have a phone that can work on Public Mobile.
To confirm if your phone will work with Public Mobile, please see this link. These are currently and mildly out of date lists of what can work. There have been reports other phones not on this list may work.
