I changed my cell number via the website, but my sim card still shows my old number.
When I login to you Public Mobile account, I see my new number.
When I call or text someone they also see my new number with caller id.
But In my phone's Settings, in the About phone section, it still shows my old number?
Any ideas how that can be changed?
I have an Android S20 FE 5G, but I cant seem to change it in the about phone section or sim section.

So I finally got the answer.
You have to power down the phone and remove the sim card for 5-10 mins.
This allows the system to catch up.
After a minimum of 5 mins replace the sim card and turn the phone on.
Mine phone number was updated and all was good.

Still showing my old number locally on the sim. everywhere else is showing my new number.
I just cant seem to edit "this phone" on the sim/android device.

What you're seeing in the About phone section is normal after a number change — that section can sometimes continue to display the old number because it's stored locally on the device and doesn't always update automatically.
Usually, the number shown in your phone settings updates within 24 hours, but this can vary by device. Since your new number is already showing when you call or text, and it's reflected correctly in your Public Mobile account, everything is working as expected.
On some Android phones, you can try this to update it manually:
Go to Settings > About Phone > SIM Status (or similar, depending on your Android version)
If editable, you may see an Edit or Phone number field — but in many cases, this is locked by the device manufacturer or not accessible at all.

Try rebooting your phone by powering off then back on and see if that works.
If not, go Account>Manage Login (Sercure by Eversafe)>Phone Number then change to your new number on the PM app.
