I mistakenly purchased a us talk and text add on yesterday, and I need a refund.

You could try to ask for refund but usually US add-ons start right away.

If you mistakenly purchased a USA add-ons. The CS_Agent will probably give you a credit rather than a refund.
Even if a refund was approved, it will take up to 30 days which would be the same as a credit on your account on your next bill.

They'll likely agree to place the value of the undesired add on into your available funds. (not necessarily back into the payment card)
This way it can be used toward a future renewal or to purchase the desired add on.

@leahsf PM is a prepaid service and usually do not provide refund.
However, if it is an honest mistake and you never use the add-on , open a ticket with PM Support and they likely will help, possible refund and put the amount back into your account.
