I want to use ethernet to connect to my PM data plan. It seems like a ZTE MF279T will work. Any ideas?

Thanks for the sanity check. MF279T locked to Telus will work with PM sim. Good to know.

I had the 279 (may still have?). I tried the Public sim in it. It worked fine. It was from Telus so locked or not won't matter. Then you can connect wired phones and ethernet. And of course also acting as a wireless access point.

Thanks for the info. WF721 and WF723 are for home phone application. I want to connect the MF279T lan port to a router just like in a home internet cable modem application. Just wanted some hands on advice before diving in. Cost to play is $150 for this project.

1. MF279T is a locked Telus unit. Will need an unlock code.

2. New 30GB plan and sim card

I have used a WF721 and WF723 with no issues.
Make sure it is carrier unlocked or was a previously used Telus or Koodo ZTE box.

That works fine. You can also connect a corded phone to it (or a cordless phone base corded to it) and use the calling features.
