Here are the options for your pm service while away from Canada. Choose what works for you. If you are on the new points program the notes about rewards do not necessarily apply.
Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Happy travels and Stay--Safe!
Text messages can be forwarded as well using an app like Mighty Text but requires the sim card to be left in a working phone left powered on and preferably connected to the charger/power source in Canada.
Do not allow your pm sim card to connect to a US cell tower or forwarding will reset to default pm voicemail.
Purchasing a pm sim card ahead of your trip (Order from Canadian Cell Supplies for $4.99+tax) and leaving the unactivated sim card with a trusted friend or family member in case an issue arises and a sim swap is necessary will allow for it to be performed quickly with the help of sim card caretaker.

This is a good suggestion as it definitely works in the US not sure if it would in South America, but I don't see why not?

Looks like the call forward process only allows 10 digits. And a quick google search suggests the need of a virtual number. I assume you want a phone to ring in the Argentine? And not be dependent on having an app with wifi? I would suggest getting a voip.ms number then do a double forwarding. There is a way to get a $10 credit to start up at voip.ms. Voip.ms is in US dollars. A DID is 85 cents a month and here is the LD charges.
Once you have an account with a balance....the balance will remain untouched if you cancel the DID. I then use an app that uses my balance to call over wifi without a DID and can give a caller ID of any number I like.

Check out call forwarding here.

You CAN forward your calls to a different number. Our home number is on a PM SIM using a ZTE box. I forward it to my iPhone....no problem. Live in Pitt Meadows and received calls in Victoria. Apparently there are no charges or debiting your minutes ( $15 plan ), but I can not confirm that.
So will that work if you forwarded to an Argentine number...you will have to test that AND check your account for charges.....like would you have to have a LD add on for Argentina? I will post forwarding process.
There also might also be a way to forward your PM number to a voip.ms number and then forward to an Argentine number.
As many ask.......your PM sim will only make inbound and outbound calls while in Canada or USA. If in USA you will need the appropriate add on.

What you can do is get a voip app like TextNow and forward your cell number to it. Leave the sim at home or don't let it connect to a US tower. Then in Argentina, you can use wifi or local cell service with data and use TextNow and calls will come to you. It also takes voicemails. You can call and text in and out on it. The recipients will see the TextNow number though.
