Why are calls fading in and out

Calls on iPhone 13 are fading in and out to the point where the call can’t be completed. Have hard reset and toggled airplane mode on and off. It’s worse on 5g.  This has been going on for 2 or 3 weeks and has progressively gotten worse.

Have you tried cleaning the ear piece? I've encountered similar issues in the past with iphone.

What about text and data?  Any issues? 

Some more talk issues recently with the roll out of  VoLTE.  Do you know if you have VoLTE activated already on your account?

Maybe try your SIM card in another working phone to help determine whether hardware issue versus PM service problem. 

You could also try to manually select 3G network to see whether that works better.
