Or you can just look at "My Plan Details"....

I think we can all agree it should display as 250 / 250 or whatever data allotment is in place.

250MB data should still be listed under "My Data & Add-on's"  but just with "250 / 250 MB" shown there to show that it's all used up.  It shouldn't be just not shown there at all making one doubt whether it ever existed in the first place.  Another place to check is on the cellphone itself where you can check for data usage on the SIM card, it will also show there how much data you have used up.

Sure, that'd be nice to have it show 250/250, but how does showing the data being fully consumed assist a user with determining how it was consumed?

They would still need to scroll through the usage on their device or usage history to determine which days and/or apps used the most usage.

You may wish reset your device's data counter on the evening (literally before going to bed) of your cycle renewal.   This way, for the next 30 day cycle, you'll know exactly how much you've consumed just by looking at your device's data counter.

@HALIMACS   That wasn't the OP's concern.  OP was concerned that he didn't get the 250MB bonus data that comes with the Autopay registration when he was supposed to without realizing that it didn't show up because it was all consumed.  If the 250MB data had shown up as "250 / 250 MB" in the "My Data and Add-on" section, he would've seen that 1) he did get the 250MB bonus data that came with the Autopay registration and 2) it was all consumed.  Two birds one stone by just one glance.

If he still wanted to get more detail on how that bonus data was all used up, he still could scroll through the data usage to find out how but in this case, if he just wanted to ensure that 250 MB bonus data was there or not, he would've gotten his answer right away by just glancing at "My Data and Add-on" without scrolling through the detailed data usage to find out more details about his data usage.  Every feature has its uses and displaying all data and minutes of the plan in the "My Data and Add-On" section regardless of whether they are consumed or not clearly has its usefulness imo.  After all that section is titled "My Data and Add-On" and not "My Unconsumed Data and Add-On".  What if everything is consumed by a user, then this "My Data and Add-On" section would be all blank with nothing?

Again, this is just my humble opinion and suggestion to Public Mobile.

Other than MMS which the phone will count but the system will not.

@Zyl

This is how it's always worked at pm. So while I agree it can cause confusion I don't see pm changing how this works.

All metered features at pm disappear once consumed. You can look under your plan details to see what is included in your plan if you have fully consumed that plan feature for your 30 day cycle.

@mandarin_no_1

You should definitely consider scheduling a plan change on next renewal unless you reign in your data usage. If you do schedule an upgrade you are advised to manually top up your account before renewal with the new plan amount as it is common for your autopay to fail on the first renewal with a higher plan amount than the previous 30 day cycle.

@darlicious  Thanks for confirming but I still think that should be changed.  They are part of the plan and shouldn't disappear once it's consumed and leaving the user to have to scroll through the usage data on "My Account".

Even if it's all used up, that 250MB data should still be listed under "My Data & Add-on's"  but just with "250 / 250 MB" shown there to show that it's all used up.  It shouldn't be just not shown there at all making one doubt whether it ever existed in the first place.  Another place to check is on the cellphone itself where you can check for data usage on the SIM card, it will also show there how much data you have used up.

As it says If you dont see a feature below then it must have been used up.

Check the day your plan renews and if you dont see that 250MB the first day then contact support agents to reset the bonus data.

Besides controlling your Apps use of data you may also want to consider moving up to a larger data plan for your renewal in a few days. You can schedule it ahead of time to happen automatically at your renewal. You have used about 1.75 GB so far this month.

@mandarin_no_1 You definitely used up your 250mb as your free holiday gift of 2gigs that only came out early December has 1.5 gigs already used. The system always uses plan data first before any add-on data.

@mandarin_no_1   I think you used them up already

Check you usage history from My Account (https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/plan-and-Add-ons/call-history/) , there should be some entries about "Web"

@mandarin_no_1  - that screen shot is showing you used up all your 250 mb Plan Data, since the line item is no longer showing.

Your renewal is on December 31st, so it will replenish again then.

EDIT:

Install an app to track your ‘live’ usage so you can keep track. Public Mobile are 30 day plans (not monthly).

If you are android, try this one:

Data Witness app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detailsid=com.iwik.datawitnesspm&hl=en_CA&gl=US

I use this one myself and it gives me what I need from it.

You could also check out Data counter widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roysolberg.android.datacounter&hl=en_CA&gl=US

If you are an Apple user, I am sure there is a 30-day app that is available as well.
