I'm not particularly impressed with the recent forum software "upgrades".

 

Maybe it's been phenomenally improved for back-end users - CSAs/MODs, PM staff, Oracles, etc. I don't know.

 

But it doesn't seem very improved for us normal plebe visitors/users.

There's a few "under the hood" improvements, part of the Khoros/Lithium package update.

I saw a little collection of new avatar images in the user settings.

I saw a few new trivialities in the notification settings and subscription settings.

Everything's been organized a little differently - "streamlined" or "optimized" or "simplified", whatever euphemism you prefer - which is probably good overall, especially for new faces, though (to me) it makes the site seem very business-like, corporate, and impersonal.

And everything's slow, slow, slow. Much, much slower than ever before. Glacial, sluggish, unresponsive, it feels bloaty and lazy on a PC browser, I can't imagine how awful it must be on a mobile browser.

 

Does anybody else any opinions about the forum changes? Good, bad, ugly? Anything I'm misjudging or might've missed?

I originally posted this thread in the Lounge. An Oracle moved it out of the Lounge, into Get Support. First time I've ever seen things happen in this direction, lol.

 

Ditto - that's a rarity for sure!!!

 

Evidently this move somehow confused or broke the bravo function?

 

I'm okay with that. The more things we break, the more things might get fixed.

No software updates available, you’re on your own. I may have a “How To” for Ring Core Memory program changes. I think it came before magnetic drum Memory. Good luck!

It's been removed as of today along with all of the bravos that have been counting. I just dropped from about 20,400+ to 18,600+. I guess I get to hit the 20,000 bravo milestone twice just like when I hit the 10,000 post milestone and pm did a forum sweep of the telus department phone number.

 

The Univac 5000 is out of commission until the end of the month when I will try a hard reset and pray it comes back online......but all of the data will be lost.....it hasn't had a software update in decades!!

 

Oh but I see the bravo button has returned to the lounge.....I thought that had gone by the wayside as well!

I would, if I could - this place is so messed up now I don't even know where that is..... funny thing, I recall seeing it when I last logged in, but don't see it now. 😮 Maybe I'm extra blind today, and have passed right by it a few times already...... 🤔

Three thumbs down? I only have two hands, two thumbs, and I do reluctantly admit that there are some small improvements to the site. So I can only agree with 2/3 of your assessment.

Lol....yes I have noticed fandom some members have started to amass and the **bleep** for tat bravos. My goodness can you imagine if we did the same rather than based on merit? 800 bravos each month just among ourselves!       current count 16/23

BTW, I have to give a Bravo to the return of the Bravo Leaders board..

 

I found so many "Great" but "Secret" friendships here via the board..  So many users never post here.. or at least rarely post.. they just come online and give bravos within an hour of some replies.. But sadly those "minions" only cheer for their master and no one else

.. and yes.. how could contact CSA be wrong.. all the new comers.. they don't know much.. we provider them the workarounds but many still prefer to leave it for the CS Support to handle it.  ..many of those.. opened the ticket .. not even wait for the ticket to be answered and already marked the case closed.

Maybe we should check if Telus Neighbourhood has it now?  If the Big brother is not offering that. I don't think a Tier 3 brother will get it..

 @CountyDownIeUk : Super Star doesn't care. The CSA's are infallible and can do no wrong and fix everything and do your dishes and give out ...certain... avatars. So that's all the community needs to be. Bam...copy/paste contact CSA's...Next! Refresh. Take a sip. Refresh.

Yes, good idea. But you always need to think ahead. Then you want to let Super Star take over and ruin the experience for some of the newbies that actually need a good response to resolve their issue?
